祝贺常州外国语附属双语学校学子在国际英文大赛中喜获佳绩

　　火红的八月，奥运健儿征战国际赛场，常州外国语附属双语学校初中部学子在校外比赛中再创佳绩！在刚落下帷幕的2020-21赛季SPBCN国际英文大赛全国总决选中进入团体前十。

　　Congratulations to our Middle School Team who achieved the tenth place in the 2020-21 Season ITSO International Team Spelling Olympiad in August!

　　SPBCN国际英文拼字大会是SPBCN国家组委会举办的一年一度的青少年英语赛事，有着“英语界的奥林匹克”之称。是对选手英语词汇量、英文拼词技巧，心理素质和抗压能力等能力的综合考量。大赛不仅为选手们提供了英语学习交流的舞台，更开阔了大家的国际视野，用语言链接世界。

　　The Spelling Bee of China Competition is an annual English contest for teenagers in China. The contestants compete with others to show their vocabulary, spelling skills and psychological qualities. The competition not only provides a platform for competitors to social and communicate, but also broadens our horizon and help students to link with the world.

　　今年代表我校出战的学生是黄奕涵、孙心陈、孙又一、吴芷静、单嘉尔、杨译舟、刘星伶，他们均是首次参赛。经过上半年激烈的半决赛后，常外双语以小组排名第二的成绩跻身全国总决赛。在此次的决选中，面对强劲的对手，选手们沉着应战，尊重对手，全力以赴，并收获了团队协作和拼词乐趣。感谢王璐老师的指导，感谢家长们的支持和同学们的辛苦付出。

　　Michael Wong, Vivian Sun, Joey Sun, Wendy Wu, Samuel Shan, Michael Yang and Angel Liu participated in this year's competition. They achieved the second place in the group competition this year and entered the national final. In the finals, all of them had a peaceful attitude and showed respect for opponents. They spared no efforts to pursue their dreams. Thanks to Ms. Wendy Wang for her guidance, parents for their encouragement and the students for their hard work.

　　In this competition, I saw the gap between myself and others, and I also understood that I must work hard now. I believe that a single spark can start a prairie fire.

　　在这次比赛中，我们勇敢地面对重重困难，面对强势的对手我们并没有退缩，半山腰太挤了，未来我们要通过努力一起在山顶眺望这个世界。

　　In this competition, we bravely faced many difficulties and did not flinch in the face of strong opponents. In the future, we will work together to look at the world at the top of the mountain.

　　这次比赛开阔了我们的视野，让我见识到山外有山人外有人，同时也收获了很多经验和知识 如果还有机会，希望可以一展雄风。

　　SPBCN has opened our eyes to the possibility that there are always new goals and people that are stronger than us. We have also gained a lot of experiences and knowledge. Hope that we can perform better when chance is coming.

　　This competition enabled me to see a lot of competitive players and I have taken a lot of challenges. I believe we can be aware of their own shortcomings and harvest growth.

　　The harder you work, the luckier you will be. I have the honor to enter the national competition with my friends, and communicate with other excellent competitors in Beijing. I believe this experience will make us better!
