　　——第六届青年教师大奖赛初小赛区侧记

　　5月22日，周六。一大早，上中园里便热闹起来。社会关注的是自招考试，然而上中年轻的老师们却有着自己的“热点”——上海中学国际部第六届青年教师大奖赛。

　　甄陶楼三楼是初小学段的赛场。当往日在教室“叱诧风云”的老师们，自己成为比赛选手的时候，也会平添几分沉稳和紧张。

　　今天的初赛赛程仅为半天，一如平日里的高效率。8点整，说课比赛和即兴英语演讲比赛同时拉开序幕。说课选手们需要在40分钟里根据指定材料和要求完成备课，递交一份教案，说课15分钟，并回答评委们提问。即兴英语演讲则更是考验老师们英语功底的项目。选手们需要在20分钟内根据抽取题目、准备一个3分钟的演讲，即兴、脱稿等要求，让数十位参赛的老师们仿佛又一次回到了学生时代......放眼望去，充满着青春活力的“选手”们，他们离开大学校园的最短的不过期年，在上中执教年份最长的也不过5、6年，然而他们的教案设计、讲台风范，已令评委刮目相看，流利洒脱的英语口语，让外教评委也频频颔首......无怪乎他们当中已经有人被学生们尊为“大神”，视为偶像！

　　讲台上的英姿还不足以反映选手们的“侧面”风采。除了说课和英语演讲，大奖赛的另一版块——“才艺秀”视频展示，为青年教师们提供了个人特长与爱好的展示平台。器乐、声乐、舞蹈、绘画、书法等是最常见的，小众的有编程、健美、烹饪、缝纫等，还有几位集数项技能于一身的高手，他们的视频，若是传上抖音，定然吸粉无数！

　　伟人毛泽东曾对青年人说过：“世界是我们的，也是你们的，但归根结底是你们的。”我想对国际部年轻的老师们说：未来的讲台，一定会因为你们而更加精彩！

　　Educators for the Future

　　——The 6th SHSID Outstanding Young Teachers Contest

　　There was great excitement at the SHS campus on the morning of May 22nd. Teachers of SHSID gathered for a long-awaited event—The 6th SHSID Outstanding Young Teachers Contest.

　　The Middle and Primary School group preliminary round took place at the Zhentao Building. Unlike the usual stances the student would see from their teachers in a regular classroom setting, their teachers transformed into passionate competitors today. 

　　The contest started right at 8:00 a.m. All competitors need to finish two events—the Lesson Plan Design and Impromptu English Speech. For the previous event, firstly, participants are given 40 minutes to design a lesson plan based on the specified materials. Then, they need to explain how they will demonstrate the lesson for 15 minutes and respond to the jury’s questions. Impromptu English speaking is an assessment of teachers’ English language skills. Participants have 20 minutes to brainstorm their ideas based on the question given, outline the speech, and finally, deliver a 3-minute speech without notecards. Impressed but not surprised, the judges were very satisfied with participants’ creative lesson plans, professional teaching skills, and fluent English. Among the participants, some were first-year teachers who just left campus and joined SHSID; the others were young, experienced teachers who have gained more confidence and become idols of students over the past few years teaching in SHSID. 

　　Apart from evaluating teaching skills, there is also an event for young teachers featuring their talents in a diverse range of areas outside of the teaching spectrum by video clips. We are not only able to immerse ourselves in instrumental music, vocal music, dance, painting, and the calligraphy presented in the videos, but also find out that the teachers took an interest and did a splendid job in coding, bodybuilding, cooking, sewing, etc. There also were several videos by teachers who are masters of multiple skills. If posted on TikTok, these videos would definitely go viral! Chairman Mao Zedong once inspired young people: the world is yours, as well as ours, but in the last analysis, it is yours. Young teachers of SHSID, we are so sure that you are the ones who will best contribute to the bright future of education.
