本月的图书馆英文阅读课主题是“共享地球”。共享地球,是PYP六大超学科主题之一。什么是共享地球?让我们来看看IB官方对于共享地球的定义吧。

Part1 The Great Tree Mouse Adventure
三只树鼠的家园被人类活动破坏,被迫逃离。于是它们踏上了充满惊险的旅程找寻新家,在这个过程中彼此帮助。阅读过程中,孩子们被树鼠的合作精神所感染,感悟到如果我们的地球家园遭受了破坏,我们也应该联合起来,采取行动,守护我们共同的地球家园。
Three tree mice's home was destroyed by human and they were forced to flee, so they embark on a thrilling journey to find a new home, helping each other along the way. During the reading process, the children were influenced by the cooperative spirit of the tree mice and realized that if our earth is damaged, we should also cooperate and take actions to protect our home.
Part2 Caring for our World
我们每年要制造多少垃圾?垃圾去了哪里?我们怎么处理垃圾?我们可以怎样减少垃圾?森林是地球上很多的动物赖以生存的家园,但是人类正在不断破坏森林以获取其他资源。我们如何拯救森林?在老师的指导阅读和孩子们的自主探究阅读中,这些问题都得到了一一解答。
How much garbage do we produce every year? Where does the garbage go? What do we do with the garbage? How can we reduce the rubbish? Forests are home to many animals on earth, but humans are destroying them for other resources? How can we save the forest? The questions are answered under the teacher's guidance and children's independent inquiry reading.
诸暨海亮外国语学校的PYP图书馆英文阅读课由外教和IB图书管理员协作开展,结合PYP跨学科主题选择阅读材料,在提高英语阅读能力的同时丰富学科知识,拓展阅读领域。
The PYP Library English reading course at HFLS is a collaborative effort between foreign teachers and IB librarians. The PYP library reading class selects reading materials in combination with PYP interdisciplinary topics to enrich the subject knowledge and expand the field of reading while improving English reading ability.
上完阅读课后,孩子们纷纷拿起画笔,描绘自己眼中的地球,呼吁大家保护地球,珍爱地球。
After the reading class, the children picked up the painting brush to depict the earth in their eyes, and called on everyone to protect and cherish the earth.
在以“共享地球”为主题的图书馆阅读课的感知与探索中,孩子们去发现和思考人与自然的共生与共享,我们身处自然之中,我们的行为会对自然产生影响,反过来,自然也会影响我们。让孩子们从对地球环境的认知开始,建立对自然的敬畏之心,以及对社会和环境的责任感和归属感。
We are in the nature, our behavior will have an impact on nature, and in turn, nature will also affect us. Let students start with the understanding of the earth and environment, and build a sense of reverence for nature, as well as a sense of responsibility and belonging for the society and environment.
